About

Table in the Sun was founded in 2022 based on my love for interiors and the way the pairing of particular colours can sing so beautifully. This can be seen in my choice of four colour combinations in my napkins, table runners and tablecloths.

The design is inspired by holidays and travel...bucket and spade holidays with family in Devon and Cornwall, beach towels and parasols in the Mediterranean and long lunches in the Andalucian hills.  The blend of bold colours against white evokes memories of some of my favourite places such as the colourful doorways of Paraty in Brazil or Bougainvillea growing against whitewashed walls in Hydra.

Each item is handmade by me at home following many lessons from my wonderfully patient mother who is also an incredible seamstress. After a decade of working in magazine publishing and hospitality, from where much of my inspiration has been drawn, I'm enjoying the opportunity of doing something practical and creative. When I am not at my sewing machine you will normally find me chasing my three children and our dog across Wimbledon Common.

My absolute favourite thing is eating with friends around our kitchen/garden table long into the afternoon/evening and I hope this collection will elevate the everyday and bring some joy and colour to your home and gatherings with friends and family.
